Holiday Happenings!

This Holiday Season has been exta special for us! We have been very blessed this year with the gift of finally having our own little family! We love our Cassie girl to pieces and can't imagine life without her now! She is one amazing little girl! We have been busy this season doing lots of fun things like making applesauce/ cinnamon ornaments, going to garden of glow, driving around looking at christmas lights while drinking hot cocoa, and attending a couple christmas parties. We have been very very busy but loving every minute of it!

well it's really late and i'm really tired so I will be posting more christmas stuff tomorrow! Stay tuned!!

These are the words i heard as i answered my phone at work on Tuesday! Cassie was at boys and girls club and they had a Christmas hat contest (which we only found out about the night before) we rushed to the dollar store, and came home and got creative. Here is what we came up with!

Our First Day

We had a great first day with Cassie! We got her room semi set up (we will finish it today) and then we went to mall for some lunch and shopping. When we got home she asked when she could meet her cousins, so we took her to meet some of them. She waited (impatiently) all day for our little neighbor girl sophie to get home from school, so she could meet her. They finally got to meet when we got home from meeting the cousins. They hit it off pretty well! Sophie even stayed for dinner! They were outside playing with our other neighbor kids Ryan and CJ and somehow they all ended up in our house playing the wii.

The girls ended up getting bored and started stamping instead, so The boys got upset and left because the girls wouldn't play the wii with them.After that the girls felt bad and made the boys i"m sorry/ merry christmas cards which they will give them today! Too cute!

After everyone left Cassie decided to paint jasons fingernails haha! Pink with glittery blue on top! soooo funny!

We decided to go see Jasons grandparents so they could meet Cassie. Such a fun visit! They laughed at jasons nails, and grandpa told Cassie the "gas" story! If you're in the Thueson family you know what that is! After a busy, busy day we were all tired so we came home and went to bed! All in all we had an awesome day! Cassie is an amazing little girl!

Just an update, SHE IS HERE!!! She is so cute and Jas is in so much trouble! She started off by stealing Jas's hat and hiding it then snagged his wallet and tried to hide it from him. And she wants to go shopping tomorrow to spend a gift certificate she got for her birthday a few weeks ago. Tomorrow will be so much fun spending Jas's money! LOL

well it's been a rough couple weeks at the Thueson house. In the last 3 weeks we have had 2 trips to the ER, 2 surgeries, and our adoption fell through!Somehow today we have a smile on our faces and things are getting back to normal.FINALLY!! we have had a lot of support from our amazing family and friends! WE LOVE YOU ALL! We would have never made it through the last couple weeks without you! I'm happy to report that jason is finally on the mend after his 2nd surgery! our life is getting back to normal. next on the list is to finish getting sod down in the back yard and moving forward with health and welfare so we can finally have our family! It's been a long time coming! Life may give us lemons but they can't keep us down for too long. watch out world we are coming back strong cuz thats how we roll!!!

I know, I know.... Summer isn't quite here yet, but i wish it was! I miss you warm sunshine! The days where I can wear Tshirts and flip flops without freezing... the camping, and swimming, and all the other fun outdoor adventures that summer brings...SO HURRY UP AND GET HERE ALREADY! We have lots of stuff planned already, and it can't come fast enough... reunions, a couple trips home to see the family, yellowstone...add in working full time and doing lots of work on our house and you get one BUSY summer. won't leave any free time in between (especially since that will be spent working on the house), but that's ok. It's all going to be worth it! At least we get to squeeze in a few fun things :)

After almost 10 years with Sports Authority it's time to say goodbye. it's a good thing though. Better things are coming my way. Starting monday I will be working for D&B Supply! I'm very excited to start this new chapter in my life. Hopefully this is the first of many positive changes that will occur for us this year. We have a lot of work to do to reach our goals, but it will all be worth it in the end. I'm very grateful to have a job, and grateful for the many other blessings in our life. Thank you to all our amazing family and friends for your support! It means a lot to us! we love you all!

so let me catch you up on the latest Thueson happenings....

The job hunt:
jas found out about a month ago that his store is closing. He's been on the job hunt ever since. After a day or 2 feeling down. He picked himself back up and has been pretty positive this whole time. It's been a bit of a roller coaster the past few weeks, but i know he will find something! I have faith! He has another interview tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed! we will keep you updated on his job search...

Tripple Play:
A few weeks ago we went to Spokane to see my family. My parents treated all 5 of their kids and their spouses and families to a night at the Holiday Inn tripple Play for a night! It was a crazy couple days, and we were exausted when we got home, but it was a blast! We played Tons of bowling! I'm bowled out for a while LOL! We also played laser tag, swam in the water park, played miniature golf,and drove the go-karts (which they wouldn't let me drive by the way- totally sucked!) It was so much fun to spend a couple days with my family. It's been a little while since we have all been together.

Other than that we've just been working, spending time with family and friends, going for drives.... you get the picture......

I SURVIVED!

Yesterday I had my first EVER hospital experience. I was really scared because I didn't know what to expect. when I checked in I had to get MORE labs done! For the record I think I've had enough lab work done to last for the rest of my life! of course the lab tech wasn't able to draw the blood from my arm so he had to get it from the top of my hand! OUCH! After that I went down to medical imaging where they put me in a room and got my IV in. This was me right before the IV was put in. Jas was trying to make me laugh cuz he knew I was nervous. As you can see I was less than ammused .

I was so nervous about the IV but it really wasn't that bad other than the initial numbing shot the nurse gave me. Here I am after The IV. Even smiling! Can you believe it? LOL! Can you tell I was nervous. It's scary when you don't know what to expect!

We hung out for a little bit and then the nurse sent Jas to the cafeteria and wheeled me into the room for the procedure. Aparently I was awake for the procedure but don't remember any of it! I remember the Dr. explaining what was going to happen, and then the nurse gave me the sedation medicine. The next thing I remember is waking up in a different room and Jas and the nurse were watching Toy Story 2. I slept off and on for the next little bit.

I ate a little food and then after a whie I got to come home. SO there you have it...proof that I Survived my first hospital experience! or I guess the better phrase would be... proof I survived the fear of my first hospital experience. Thank you Jas! I couldn't have made it through this without you!

O' Christmas Tree

One of my favorite things this time of year is the Christmas tree! I love trimming it with ornaments both traditional and sentimental! Jas and I painted these ornaments the first Christmas we were married 6 years ago. I will always cherrish the memory of the day we painted these and how much fun we had!

Nothing is better than sitting by A lit Christmas Tree when all the other lights are off. It gives me time to reflect on happy thoughts, and puts me in the Christmas Spirit. That being said I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. May the Chrismas Spirit be with you and yours this great Holiday Season! Here's to a great start to the new year!

On My Mind

Tonight I have a bit of a heavy heart... a lot of people in our life are going through hard times right now. It really puts things in perspective and reminds me how scary it is that things can change in an instant. I just try to remember that we all go through hard times at some point and we need to help each other through them. Sometimes there isn't much you can do except be there... be there to listen....be there as a shoulder to cry on..... be there to help each other get back up! In the end all of these small things are actually a lot. So tonight I will say an extra prayer for all the people going through hard times. Things can only get better from here!

Hunting with the Hubbie

Some believe in lucky and some just say it is fate. I am starting to believe more in luck every day. This is the 2nd year that Mandy has gone with me deer hunting and both years I have taken down my deer. Both times it was right at the end of the season after I had gone several times and nothing. Also both times it was right at the end of the day when we were about to pack up and go home. Most men only dream of their wives hunting with then, but I have the luck of having the best hunting partner. The best part is that she also brings me luck in finding my deer. On the 28th of October I had the day off to give it one more try. I had spent 4 long hard days and sweltering heat wave with no luck of seeing any bucks prior to this day. So the day started off on my own at about 4am in the morning and a long drive to the "No Tell-Um" spot to hunt. As I pulled into my spot I was surprised to find my brother Erik there. We preceded up to our spot and I was able to help him get his deer early in the morning. After we got his deer loaded into the truck he had to leave.
I told him I would be sticking around to try to get my deer. I called Mandy to give her an update only to find that she was getting off early, so I asked her if she wanted to come hunting with me. She said she would, so I drove home to get her. After Mandy used some tricks to get the camo clothes to fit her we were on our way. We drove back up to my spot, and after a little hiking found a place where we could sit and wait to see a deer. We got there at about 3:30pm. After sitting there for a couple hours and seeing nothing I finally spotted a buck. I went up the hill to check it out a little closer only to find it was on private property. Then I thought maybe it would go to the other side of the hill and down on the property I was on. It turns out I was right! Mandy and I headed down and around to the other side of the hill and the buck had come over onto the property I was on. With only a few minutes of shooting light left I got my deer. We got the deer down the mountain and I gutted it. Now we just had to go back to the truck so we could drive in and pick up the deer. The only problem was it was pitch dark! Things look a lot different in the dark and my headlamp wasn't very bright so all we had was the flashlight Mandy was using. Aftr wandering around for about a half hour we finally found our way to the truck. SUCH A RELIEF!!! Even with a few scary moments things worked out in the end. Like I said, I think that I am very lucky and Congrats to Erik for his deer and the Help he gave me this year.

A Great Mentor

For a while now a lot of us in the family have been taking turns taking dinner twice a week to Jasons grandparents (Who i've completely adopted as my own grandparents by the way). They like us to stay and eat with them which is great! One night after we finished eating Grandma said "mandy lets go paint!" I was so happy she was feeling good enough to paint that I just couldn't say no. For those of you who don't know Jasons Grandma she is an AMAZING painter! She herself would never tell you that, but really she is! Me on the other hand not so much LOL! I have not painted since art class in high school, and that is the only time in my whole life I have ever painted. In my defense I told her that from the beginning. She said don't worry just have fun with it and I will give you tips when you need them. so I said ok and we went to work. It was so much fun! The next few times I went over to their house grandma and I painted together... What a treat for me to spend that time with her! It is something I will never forget! Love you so much Grandma!

This is nothing compared to Grandma's paintings but here is my finished product. Grandma didn't finsh a painting she just worked a little bit on a few paintings she had started a long time ago. When she finishes one of them I will post pictures.

End Of Summer Update

I have completely been neglecting my blog all summer! I know, I know I should be more on top of it. I will do my best to keep up on it now I PROMISE! Since I haven't posted anything for a while here is what we have been up to.....
It has been one busy but TOTALLY FUN summer... we have been camping a few times (which is always great), went to oregon for our anniversary, went to spokane to visit my family a couple times (jas only got to with me once), went to salt lake to visit jasons sister and see my brother while he was there visiting his family (again jas didn't get to go with me :( gotta love retail... NOT!!!), and we took a drive up to redfish lake (which is so amazing!), and in between just worked and spent time with family and friends. All in all it has been a great summer and I'm sad it's over....

I'm too tired tonight but i will be posting A BUNCH of pictures very soon~

Times have changed

I miss the way things were when I was younger. People (kids in particular) were so much more respectful. Last night at Jasons birthday BBQ he had to tell 2 kids (about 9 or 10 years old) to leave because they were getting into our stuff. One of them even tried to take off with our camera! UGH!!! what is this society coming to?? I know not all kids these days are like this, but you find it more often than not anymore. What happened to the good ol' days when kids played kick the can, and hide and seek, and built tree forts?? Back then you didn't have to worry about a 9 year old stealing your stuff! SAD :(

A Little Relieved

For the last month I have had a scare with my liver. I went in for a routine physical and bloodwork. My Dr. called the next day and told me my liver enzymes (ALT and AST) were really high. He did more bloodwork and I went in for an abdominal ultrasound. I ended up going to a specialist last week and she re-ran the test again and also tested me for other things (diabetes, hepatitis, ect...) that can cause your enzymes to be high. All of my tests came back negative and my enzyme count actually had gone down quite a bit. It's still higher than it should be, but at least it has improved. I have to go back in 3 months to re-run it again. The specialist is pretty sure I have whats called fatty liver disease, which (imagine this) is common in TS patients. Luckily this is something that can be controlled with a low fat low carb diet. The problem is diagnosing it because it can only be diagnosed through ultrasound (mine did not show fatty liver disease, but sometimes you won't see it on an ultrasound) or a liver biopsy. We are still not 100% sure that I have fatty liver disease, but more than likely that's what it is. I'm hoping that with ruling everything else out, and my levels improving, she can diagnose me without doing a biopsy. I will know more when I go back in 3 months, but for now all I can do is eat a low fat low carb diet. Thank you for your support and concern everyone! We are truly blessed to have such great family and friends.

weekend in spokane

We had a great trip to spokane this weekend! My mom works for an assisted living home so on friday I went and sang for them. So much fun to pick up that mic again!

Friday Night we got to go visit my aunt and uncle. I had a little geneology lesson! SO much fun to see them!

On Saturday we went to Kettle Falls where we got to stay with my Grandma. My aunt and cousin came over and played games with us. We also got to see my brother and his family. My brother also stayed and played games with us. My sister and her kids stopped by too! I can't believe how big the kids are. It's pretty sad when an 8 year old is almost as big as you are LOL!

We also got to see Dee and Jeff and Hailee. Hailee kicked our butts in wii bowling!

Jason was playing with Hailee and said hey whats that in your ear and pretended to pull a dollar out of her ear. Hailee then tried to put the dollar back in her ear LOL! SO CUTE!!

It's always great to go visit family! I am exhausted from staying up WAY too late chatting and playing games all weekend,but thats part of the fun! We came home and both of us fell asleep. Now time to go back to bed and then work tomorrow. It's great to be home!

The mouths of babes

we just got back from the hotsprings with jasons family. It was so much fun!(we missed you Erik, Nicci, and Savannah, and wish angie and joel and the kids could have been here to come with us! (move back already guys!!!!!!) we swam and played to our hearts content. There was just one thing I couldn't figure out... I was trying to play with our neice Hailey. She always gives me hugs and wants to play, so imagine my surprise when she politely (in her own "hailey" way) declines! what!? my first thought is did i do something that upset her? I couldn't think of anything, but nonetheless there had to be some reason for her polite "Hailey way" decline. I shrugged it off for a while, and then had this conversation with her where she (in her "Hailey" way) declined again. I GIVE UP LOL!

me- Hailey do you want to come swim with me?

Hailey- no!

me- Why not? It will be fun!

Hailey- I don't want to because you're just too small

me- (while laughing) ok well is that such a bad thing?

Hailey- (looking at me with an "are you crazy" look...swam away from me and said "nevermind"

With Thanksgiving right around the corner I was thinking of all the blessings we have had in our life this year. It has been an interesting year to say the least. I am looking for a job for the 2nd time in the last 6 months. I have a 2nd interview at St. Lukes this week (thank you Gen!)! If I get the job it will only be part time (it might work into full time eventually), but it will open so many doors for me which I would be extremely thankful for! I have to say that even though this year hasn't been the best because of the economy, I know things could very easily have been a lot worse! Normally we would be soooo stressed out right now, but We have the most amazing friends and family, we are able to pay our bills, we have our health and happiness, and we have each other! What more could we ask for? Here's to all the blessings we have in our life.

Life

So about a month ago I was laid off due to the economy. I was freaking out a little bit at first, but chose not to let it get to me. There was nothing I could do (except take action and find a job), so why freak out over something I had no control over? I had a few bad days here and there and I was a little down, but I made myself stay positive, so I was able to snap out of it fairly quickly. I have had interviews at 3 different places in the last couple weeks, and I got a job as a nanny for a one year old little girl. I am so excited to start my new job and to be able to GLADLY say I am no longer UNEMPLOYED! Wooohoo!!! I want to say THANK YOU to my wonderful supportive husband for never letting me stay down and depressed, and for being my rock! I LOVE YOU JAS!!!

Buck Fever

On the drive home from our camp out to Baumgartners with our Turners Group camp out we were talking about how great a time we had. I told Mandy how I was talking to the guys about the upcoming hunting season and the plans to try and get together when I spoted up the side of the hill some deer. So I looked over to Mandy and told her that I was going to pull over and take the camera and see how close I could get to the deer and snap some photos. I started up the side of the hill and would only move while they had their head down feeding. Before I knew it, I had gotten with in 20 yards and did not want to push it any futher. There was 3 bucks with one of them being a nice 4X4. There was also a 2X2 and a large spike, I now have BUCK FEVER Bad!

Fishing with Dad!

After haveing many long hard days at work and having to work 3 hours on my day off to prepare for a big Corprate Visit, I looked forward to taking a long hard nap. Late in the afternoon after a long nap, Dad stopped by on one of his theripy rides on his new bike and asked if I wanted to go fishing. So I told him that I would stop by in a few minutes to pick him up.
We went down to Glenwood Bridge and fished for about an hour and each caught roughly one 10 inch trout each and decided to move to a better spot. So we decided to move to the old rail road bridge but on the drive there I took a detour to the old Bob Rice Ford Pond. To our suprise we had more in store for us! While fishing, Dads fishing pole nearly was ripped into the pond but he caught it before it went. As he went to set the hook, the fish had spit the hook out. About 3 minutes later, I went to retrive my line to check the bait and found that I had a fish on! This is what we found on the end of the line.

Caught on 8-15-09 25 and one half inches long and weighed about 3 to 5 pounds

We went back to Mom and Dads house and called Mandy to meet us there with the camera. They were shocked and we got some fun canidids with the fish.

Turners Group Campout

On the Weekend of the 6th thru the 9th of August 2009, Mandy and I had the chance to plan and attend the annual Turners Group camp out. It started off by Mandy and I heading to Baumgartner Camp Ground on Thursday morning to prepare for the group to join us on Friday. When we arrived we decided to take a look at the site that we had reserved and Mandy became very worried that the site was to small. But with luck, the site across from our site was bit bigger and was open. So with a little talking to the camp host, we were able to move to the new site and keep in reserve the old site just in case.

We then found us a single site and started to prepare for the night and get started on dinner and discovered that I had forgotten propane for cooking. So we had to take a drive in to Featherville and then to Pine to buy a bottle of propane.($6.99 each)Needless to say that we finally got back to camp in the dark and prepared our dinner. To make things better, it began to rain on us so we ate and then just 4-Runner camped.

The next morning we got up and ate breakfast and then moved to our group site to prepare for the group to show up. While waiting we decided to go enjoy the hot springs. Then it was back to camp to continue setting up and scouting for wood for our camp fires to last us. The first to show up was Elizabeth and she was able to find us based on our directions we gave here. Then shortly, Jeremy and Malia and Girls drove up and were very happy with our choice to move. We helped them to set up their camper. With luck it was pretty dry while we waited for the others and had a good chance to visit with Jeremy and his wife.

Awhile later, Troy and Brittney and kids showed up and we all helped them to set up their tent trailer. As we were helping them, Misty and her two kids showed up and we helped them set up as well. It was good to see that everyone jumped in to help one another. And then we moved on to making dinner. And then we all changed and headed to the hot springs for a nice soak.

Then it was back to camp to warm up by the fire and have smores and prepare for bed.

The next morning we all prepare our breakfast, which Mandy and I made Birds Nest foil breakfast. For those that do not know what is in a Birds Nest, it consists of Hash Browns molded into a nest with pieces of ham, bacon, and one egg in the center. Oh so Good!

We then planned out what everyone was going to do with the day and how we would have fun. Some choose nap for the day and others choose to go on a nature hike.

We then returned back to camp to relax and further get to know one another and allow the kids to settle down.

Then it was time to prepare dinner, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Salads, and dutch oven dump cake.

We had a hard time keeping Troy awake.

When dinner was finished we sat talking and then started preparing to head for the hot springs for the evening.

Time for a soak!

Oh what a feeling of a nice soak in a hot springs before bed. Way to relax the weary muscales. The hard part was the fact that it would be our last night together so we made the best of it. We turned in for the night after getting the kids down for bed. The next morning we made breakfast and then it was tare down of camp time. Just as everyone had when arriving, we all worked together to tare down camp.

Hard to say good by to new found friends.

Mandy and I are so thankful for the help and friendships that we have found from The Turners Group of Idaho and the blessings it brings to our lives. Kitten Anyone?? HOME FOUND, YAH!!!

We found this little guy outside our house a couple days ago. He's only about 12 weeks old, and was starving and looked like he had been out for a while. We already have 2 cats, so there is no way we can keep this little one too. I just didn't want him to die on the street so I'm trying to find a home for him. Why do people have animals if they aren't going to take care of them?? We have a lady coming to see him today, so hopefully she will take him home!! wish us luck, or I should say wish me luck! I think jason is running out of patience and is more than ready for our "visitor" to find a home!

Utah Dinosaur Park

The last weekend in June I went to Salt Lake to meet up with my brother Chad and his family. I also got to see Jasons sister and her family...(Thanks so much for letting my friend and I stay with you guys Angie and Joel!!! I really appreciate it!) Also thanks to Elizabeth for coming with me so I didn't have to drive in Salt Lake by myself... You're a lifesaver!!!!

Here's a little recap on the trip.... It's a little long so bare with me!

Friday we got to Layton (about 1/2 hr outside salt lake) about 4:00 and had an early dinner with Chad, Susie, and the kiddos at Red Robin. Then we headed to Angies house. The kids were all excited to see us (except Paige who was either scared of me or having a little bit of separation anxiety issues. I'll take the latter excuse... Yeah that's it! Poor girl... I really didn't mean to scare you Paige!! Love you sweet girl :) It was "movie night" at the Hallberg house so we watched pink panther 2 with Angie and the kids.

On Saturday we got up and met Chad and his family at the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. It was such a neat Place! Here are some of my favorite pics from the dinosaur park... Enjoy :)

After all the fun and excitement at the Dinosaur park we headed to Chads moms house for a BBQ. It was great to meet his mom and siblings! They welcomed us with open arms which was comforting... After that we went back to Angie and Joels for some mad gab competition. I want a rematch guys :) LOL!!! Then on Sunday we went back to Chads moms house for some lunch and to say goodbye. It was a great trip! Can't wait to see you all again!!

I made this diaper bag for one of my co-workers. She's having her 1st girl. I had so much fun making it! It's the first thing I've actually done with my sewing machine besides hemming pants. A Sunday Drive to Sun Valley --- Pause Playlist First

For Valintines/Mandys B-day we decided to take a drive to Sun Valley for the day. With Valintines on Saterday and Mandys Birthday on Monday we figured that Sunday would be a good day to spend together. So we packed up the 4-Runner with our snow gear and Jazzy and headed out on our adventure. We went through Mt. Home and then north to Sun Valley. We stopped in Sun Valley Resort and took a stroll through the resort with Jazzy meeting a new friend and not so friendly Swans. We then continued north to Stanley, ID were we cut across west to Lowman, ID. In Lowman we ran into a VERY large heard of Elk and got some great photo's as well as video. We also saw 2 Bald Eagles, A doe Mule Deer, and one crazy Racoon crossing the road in front of us. Then from Lowman we headed south to Idaho City, and along the way I thought that I had seen a cougar darting across the hill side. We stopped and backed up to try and see it again, but what ever it was long gone. From Idaho City we then returned home. After about a 10 and a half hour stroll through Idaho and 5 to 6 hundred mile drive, we were glad to finally get home to our warm bed and prepare for a new day.

What a week, and it's only Wednesday

This week we have been dealing with my car being broken down. What's wrong you ask? Well if only we knew we could tell you. I went out Monday morning to warm up my car. It started up just fine, and I went back in the house for about 10 minutes while my car defrosted. when I went outside to leave for work my car was no longer running. I tried to start it with no luck. I ran in and got Jas and he tried to jump start it...STILL NOTHING! Jas took the battery out and we took it to Schucks to have it tested. They said "yep you have a bad battery". YAY easy fix, or at least one may think easy fix right? We bought a new battery, went home, put the new battery in and again NO LUCK! Time to call in reinforcements!!! In this case my awesome father-in-law (Love you Gail, Thanks for all your help! We owe you big time!!). He said well I don't think it's your starter or your alternator. I think you might have condensation in your gas line from it being so cold and only having 1/4 tank of gas in the car. YAY also an easy fix! Just go buy this additive and that should dry it out. Key word here is SHOULD! Yep you guessed it still NO LUCK!! My poor car is now in the shop, and we wait for the mechanic to call and tell us whats wrong. I'll let you know the results when we find out....Like I said great week so far and it's only Wednesday! Can't wait to see what the rest of the week has in store for us, but I think it can only get better from here, or at least I hope it gets better!!

So a couple weeks ago Jasons 4 runner started acting funny. He took it in for an oil change and they said it was leaking oil, transmition fluid, and his differential was also leaking...Needless to say it's in the shop today. Once they figure out the problem they will call us and let us know what it will cost to fix it. On top of the car problem Jas came home from work a couple days ago with a tootheache and a swollen cheeck. I made him go to the dentist yesterday and they had to pull 2 teeth. Poor guy!!!! Bad things always come in 3's right, so I sit here wondering what that 3rd problem will be...

A Blessing In Disguise

I went to Spokane for Thanksgiving weekend. It was a great time with my family! Yesterday my flight was supposed to leave Spokane at 4:30, but it got delayed. The later in the day it got the more it was delayed until finally it was delayed until 8:40. I still had to be at the air port at the original flight time "just in case" they decided we could leave earlier than 8:40. It was a long night, but the dreadful 5 hours at the airport turned out not to be so bad. I was sitting there watching a movie when I looked up and saw this blind guy wandering. He was running into things so I asked him if I could help him. He said “ I’m just trying to find a chair.” I helped him find a seat, and We talked for a while. About an hour or hour and a half later his wife came to sit with him until he got on the plane. They kept me company most of the night and then I helped him get on and off the plane, and then Jas and I got him to his cab. It turned out to be a blessing for me. I was really not in a good mood after I found out I had to sit at the airport for at least 4 hours (which ended up being 5 hours), but having them there made it go by fast. It turned out to be an OK night after all.

Thankful

So as we all know it's the Holiday Season. Some people dread it, some people love it. For me it's a time to reflect on the past year, and count the blessings that have come our way. This year there are many things I am thankful for. I am thankful for our family, and friends, our jobs, and I'm especially thankful for Jason. He is my rock! He is constantly doing something that makes me love and appreciate him more and more every day. I love you Jas!

On Friday when I got home from work Jas said we had to go get my surprise. He then took me to the mall and got me this ring and necklace.

He is so sweet. My first reaction was "Jas it's not Christmas yet." He said "I know this isn't a Christmas gift, it's a just because gift." He knows he doesn't have to buy me things to keep me happy. I'm not the kind of girl who cares about material things. To me It's the thought that counts! He always says "I know I don't have to buy you things, but I want to because you deserve it for putting up with me." LOL I love you Jas! Thank you for the gorgeous ring and necklace!

My Goal

so 4 and 1/2 years ago when Jas and I were engaged I was really stressed out, and as a result I gained about 23 pounds (ugh disgusting!!) I was by no means obese but I was overweight for my height. My weight gain was not from food, it was simply stress. Some people tend to use food as a comfort when they are stressed , but not me. I tried the gym and running. I lost a couple pounds but always gained it right back. I was extremely frustrated and disgusted with how I looked, but didn't know what to do, since the gym wasn't working. I think you have to spend like 5 hours a day in the gym to actually see results (frustrating)! Honestly who has time to do that! I was going for about 45 min. I ran 2 sometimes 3 miles a day on the treadmill and elyptical, and then on top of that I was walking my dog after dinner and doing pilates. I still only lost a pound or 2! Finally in April my friend told me about the South Beach Diet.(Thanks Trish you're a lifesaver!) I lost 8 pounds the first 2 weeks, and I wasn't working out at all! I lost 15 pounds in 2 months. I have kept the weight off with no problem so far, but I just started the diet again on monday. My goal is to be at the weight I was when Jason met me by Thanksgiving. Only 8 more pounds to go! Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!

We went to Spokane this past weekend to see my family. I had to come back Sunday for work, but Jas doesn't have to be back to work until tomorrow, so I flew back and he's driving back today. This morning I got a text message from Jas with this picture saying "can little miss Bootsy come live with us"

He is so sweet! Here is another picture of Bootsy. She is 6 weeks old, and was the only black kitten in the litter. The rest of them were gray.

Thueson "Camping" Trip August 22nd-24th

Ok so it wasn't exactly camping... We ended up going to Justin and Lynettes family cabin because the campground was closed due to a fire. We had a great time playing spinners (a domino game), eating lots and lots of junk food, riding the four wheeler, and swimming in the hotsprings! Oh and we can't forget ping pong! It's amazing what you can use for a paddle when you don't have one right Erik? We all had a great time! A special thanks to Justin and Lynette for letting us use the cabin.

Missing Money

Hey everyone I have a little tip for all of you. You could have missing money that is owed to you and you don't even know it! First let me explain my experience so you will understand a little better...

I got a phone call from my sister yesterday saying that she had watched Dateline NBC and they were doing this big report on people who had missing money and probably didn't even know it. They named off some websites you can visit to see if your name is on the list. My sister went and checked all of our names in the family and low and behold there mine was not once but twice! they were both posted by the Idaho Tax Commission, so apparently I didn't get as much back as I should have for my tax refund about oh 6 years ago. The strange thing is H&R Block did my taxes. I don't know how much it is yet (it will only tell you if it's under or over $100). I am now working with the state to find out how much it is. Anyway you should all go to this website missingmoney.com to see if you are on the list. All you do once you get there is put in your first and last name and the state. Ladies be sure to check under your maiden as well as your married name, as mine was under my maiden name. Also if you lived in different states check them all!

We had a great night as we started with dinner at the Cottonwood Grill. What a dinner, at least mine was great and Mandys was ok. I had Buffulo Sirlon Steak and Mandy had a Stewed Lamb Shank. Mandys would have been better if it had some kind of sauce or spice for more flavor. We made a quick stop off at my parents house to have photos taken, so Mandy would have photos for the digital photo frame I bought for her to take to work. We then went to the movies and watched Hancock with Will Smith as a Super Hero. Then we spent the rest of the evening cuddled up and reflected on the past 4 years. JAS

4th of July Weekend

Was anyone elses weekend as crazy as ours was? Thursday night we went to a BBQ. Friday I had the day off. Unfortunately Jas had to work. I ended up going to the lake with my friend trish and her son Hunter. We got there about 11:45 or so, and then got back to her house about 4. Then Jas and I went to a BBQ at his aunt and uncles house that night. After that we went to the train depot and watched the fireworks. Saturday Jas had to work again. We had a family reunion, so I went to the park for that while Jas worked. He did manage to get off early though which was nice. It was a crazy but great weekend! After all the fun and excitement I think I will lay low tomorrow (while Jas works yet agian) and clean the house. Here is a video of the fireworks finale. THE LONG AWAITED METTING!

When I was about 2 years old (maybe a little younger) my parents got divorced. My Brother, Sister, and I were raised by our Mom and Stepdad. I saw my biological father once when I was about 7 I think. That's the only visit I remember anyways. Maybe there were others and I was just too young to remember them. We knew our Dad had a previous marriage before marrying our Mom, and also that he had a son with his previous wife. When I was 18 or 19 I went to see our Dad for the first time since I ws a little kid. He told me that he knew where our Brother was, and he gave me the information to contact him. So here we are. After talking to my Brother Chad on the phone and through email for the last 8 years Jas and I finally met Chad in person this week for the first time! He is now married to his wife Susie, and they have 3 adorable kids. We had the most amazing visit! It's kind of strange to think that you have a brother you've never met, but once you do meet it's like you've never been separated. I instantly felt comfortable with Chad and his family. I think our personalities are a lot alike. Hopefully Chad and his family felt the same way with Me and Jas. We only got to spend 2 days together, so we have a lifetime of catching up to do. I can't wait to embark on that exciting journey!

Trip to Salt Lake

When we met Chad in Salt Lake we stayed with Angie and Joel and the kids. It was so much fun to see them and finally meet little Paige! We all went to the zoo on Tuesday. It was great to see how excited little Sydney was to see the animals. We loved being able to spend time with the kids! We don't see them as often as we would like, so it's always great to catch up after awhile.

Last night I went out with a couple friends (Stephanie and Melissa) to the Sex and The City Movie. We went and had apetizers first and then went to the movie. It was really good to get out with the girls. We had a great time! The plan is to have a girls night once a month.

As you all know Jas and I can't have kids, so we have to adopt. Hopefully we will start the adoption process this year. We can't start the adoption stuff until we get a bigger house, so we will be putting our cozy little house up for sale this summer. For now we have our dog (Jazzy)) and our cat (Kallie). They are our kids LOL! We love them very much! We love watching the silly things they do everyday, even when they are onry. I guess I should say when Kallie is onry, because 99% of the time she is the one causing trouble. As for all of our siblings and parents out there you are the proud aunts, uncles, and grandparents of our precious little furballs LOL! (At least for the near future anyways)! LOVE YOU GUYS!
